about

So many men hang on the edge. Sometimes the strongest among us are holding on by the weakest threads. I hope this song brings attention to the issue surrounding men’s mental health and suicides while encouraging others to stay strong and check in on their friends. The night is darkest before the dawn. Please stay with us.

lyrics

So I laid down my head
On a river bed
I had to change my name
To pay the rent
And there I go again
Turning dreams into debt
You know the bank called it in
But I ain’t done spending yet
No
I’m gonna hang it up
You think they’ll lower my fee?
When the rope starts swinging and
Darling I can’t breathe
Everything I owe bringing me down

So I laid down my head
On a river bed
And I fell asleep
And woke up in this dream
And I could give her everything she wanted
I could give them everything they deserved
Ya the bank man
Well he stopped calling her

I’m gonna hang it up
You think they’ll lower my fee?
When the rope starts swinging and
Darling I can’t breathe
Everything I owe bringing me down
Back down to the ground
Back down

So I laid down my head
On a river bed
I’m gonna close my eyes
I’m gonna close my eyes
